        This is the escalator at the Dupont Circle Metro station. The escalator is very long, and the wall is tall.

        "Metro" is Washington's subway system.

        帰りに時々「National Mall」と言う公園を渡ります。あそこから、「United States Capitol」の西側が見えます。ドームの上にある像は「Statue of Freedom」と言います。

        ７月４日は「Independence Day」と言う祝日で、アメリカがイギリスから独立した記念です。行う行事がいろいろですが多いのは花火を打ち上げることです。家の庭で小さいのをあげたり、町や市のすごい花火を見たり
