This is the interior of the Rouken Jinja (Old Dog Shrine). We were unable to turn on the lights, so we had to explore the shrine in the dark.
Inside the shrine, Matthew got a lesson in the northern accent. Our guide kept pointing to characters that Matthew knew were pronounced "Akita Inu", but the guide was repeating "Aksain".
