Sunomono at Takasagoya

Our last ryokan experience occurred at Takasagoya in Yonezawa, in Yamagata Prefecture. Back on the jizake, we began our dinner with this beautiful sunomono, or vinegared salad. Rice noodles, seaweed, and slices of wonderfully fresh octopus were lightly vinegared and served in half a grapefruit.
