On our drive down from Hachimantai, we passed and crossed numerous lakes and rivers. Every last one of them was scenic. Matthew had to concentrate on driving so as to stay on the correct side of the road — and not drive off into the ditch (there was no shoulder) — so Stefanie took some photos for him to enjoy the scenery later.
