Another Akita dog statue in front of Ōdate station. Commonly referred to as "Hachiko and his Friends," the plaque simply states "Akita Dog Family".
We took this photo on our first trip to Ōdate. Although we wanted to take our time exploring the city, we needed to get cash — which turned into an all-day ordeal, including a middle-of-the-night call to our bank in New Mexico to get everything sorted out.
